The Rashomon Effect: an improvised score inspired by the storytelling method employed in Akira Kurosawa’s 1950 film Rashômon in which sonic and kinetic themes are introduced and revisited by each performer, morphing and expanding as memories do with each pass around the circle. The term “Rashomon effect” refers to the effect of subjectivity on recollection, by which observers of an event are able to produce substantially different but equally plausible accounts of it.
